Mom! Those Look Terrible!!!!
Today I decided to attempt to stretch out the leather on a pair of new shoes that I purchased from Nordstrom Rack not too long ago. I got these beautiful Fergie – Jonas shoes in a metal/green/gray color. They have a zipper up the front and are so cute. The strap in the back was a little big, so I had the local cobbler take the strap in a bit ($6 cost, pretty reasonable). The problem is, he was a little aggressive on the adjustment, and the back strap is just a bit snug now. I took the shoes back to him and he bluntly asked me “have you even worn these yet?” (He could tell the answer was no, as the bottom of the shoes were still pristine). I walked back out of his shop a little disgruntled, but thought…ok, I’ll try to stretch them out myself, and if that doesn’t work, I’m bringing them back for him to fix. I’m not the most patient person in the world…and I came up with the idea to put on my biggest, fattest socks and walk around for an hour inside the house with the shoes on, to see if it would more quickly do any stretching.
So — I put on my super thick white socks, the super fluffy kind that are so popular right now (chenille wannabes), put on the shoes, got up and went to the vanity and started doing my hair/makeup. A few minutes later, my 6 year old daughter walks in — and quickly gasped
MOM!!! You’re not going to wear those, are you? Those don’t just look bad, they look TERRIBLE!
Hey, at least I know for sure the girl has good taste and won’t dress like an fool when she grows up!
And, in case you like the shoes for yourself, you can get the on Amazon.com, they’re on sale right now – Fergie Women’s Jonas Sandal. Remember though, the strap in the back seems to run a bit big, and they may need a slight adjustment by your cobbler. Just be sure to keep him/her from getting too nutty w/the adjustment.

She’s no fool!
